Course: 3D Motion Design 1
This course focuses on introducing the principles and production of 3D modeling and 3D motion using industry standard software and processes. Students demonstrate three-dimensional concepts, theories, design, and application while creating products for use in motion graphics. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop and mouse
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
- Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
- Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
- Preferred: Master’s degree AND
- 3 or more years’ experience in the design industry
- Minimum: bachelor’s degree in animation, motion graphics, 3D modeling, graphic design, advertising, or an equivalent degree in the visual arts
- Skills in the following are required: 12 Principles of Animation, understanding of graphic design and how it relates to motion graphics, motion graphics trends, motion production pipeline, strong conceptualization abilities, ability to direct research of industry trends, ability to facilitate extrapolation of future technologies, strong ability to give pointed feedback, understanding of typography and its use in motion, and how to understand requirements of a creative brief. The ability to mentor students developing research presentations, pitch ideas, and prototype designs is central to this course. Skills teaching the following software programs are required: Maya, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
