The Task At Hand:
The A/R Specialist will be responsible for the collection of outstanding accounts receivable and customer deduction management. Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager, this role ensures accuracy in cash applications, timely resolution of deductions, and efficient processing of accounts receivable invoices.
You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to enhance the company’s financial operations.
In This Role, You Will:
Accounts Receivable
• Manage cash applications within the organization.
• Create credit memos for deductions and import to Sage.
• Assist with AR Aging and collection by disputing any past-due invoices through customer portals.
• Process AR invoicing in Sage and EDI transactions.
• Request monthly balance statements from customers.
• Provide customer invoice aging statement requests.
Deduction Management
• Accurately identify, validate, and clear customer deductions according to established business processes and timelines.
• Be responsible for the timely, accurate, approved entry and maintenance of trade promotions in Tellus, the trade promotion system.
• Research and resolve trade deductions including overages, reclamations, damages, freight, fines, product returns, and other non-promotional deductions.
• Identify deduction trends at the customer level and communicate such trends, helping to develop recommendations for the team to review and implement.
• Build favorable, strong working relationships with key constituents and cross-functional partners (e.g., Sales, Sales Finance, Customer Broker Services).
• Develop monthly and ad-hoc reports, as needed, to provide data to internal teams.
In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience, required.
• 1-2 years of relevant Accounts Receivable experience or analytics experience.
• Preferably located in the Pacific Time Zone.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, specifically in a supply chain environment.
• Experience with Sage X3 or other ERP systems is a plus.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with little to no supervision while performing duties.
• Strong time management, planning, and organizing skills.
• Strong listening, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms.
• Up to 10% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. Anticipate possible travel up to a few times each quarter.
• Genuine passion for improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet.
• Previous exposure to cross-functional work between Sustainability and Finance preferred.
• Desire to contribute to a dynamic high-growth, purpose-driven work environment.
• Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position.

Compensation:
• Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt.
• The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000.00 to $70,000.00.
• The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
