Title: Adjunct Faculty - Health Economics and Statistics

Job Description:

The School of Healthcare Business and Technology seeks adjunct instructors to develop and teach healthcare economics and statistics courses for the MBA in Healthcare Technology. The courses are taught at the graduate level and delivered online and in person in Boston. The courses are geared toward graduate students entering healthcare and life sciences, particularly in technology-rich organizations. The healthcare technology MBA focuses on applying math and science in managerial decision-making for health and life sciences organizations. The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise and real-world examples to guide the course outline development and the relevant course development process. The course delivery is intended to follow a problem-based and active learning approach.

This position requires teaching online and on-campus in Boston.

  • Provide expertise in developing and delivering course content in healthcare economics and statistics and other related healthcare and life sciences content.
  • Work with the Dean, Program Director, and the assigned instructional support contact to develop graduate courses for academic credit.
  • Develop course content with a problem-based approach, providing a detailed breakdown of lessons and assignments, including rubrics.
  • Guide content development for each lesson. Review existing course content (if available) and recommend adaptations, changes, and updates.
  • Work with the Dean, Program Director, and instructional support to develop content (videos, discussion boards, quizzes, live sessions, exams) as needed.
  • Design content for engaging class sessions utilizing active learning and problem-based learning.
  • Record lectures in class, present remotely or in a studio on the Boston campus.
  • Determine the key learning concepts that need to be assessed and suggest practical and scalable assessment methods in line with the program outcomes and assessment plan.
  • Draft assessments corresponding to lessons/modules and cumulative assessments.
  • Ensure the course meets the high-quality standards of other MCPHS online and on-campus courses.
  • Recommend approaches for assignments and exams that ensure academic integrity and enable the course to scale in terms of enrollment.
  • Identify tactics to improve the course based on feedback from its first run
  • The supervisor may assign additional responsibilities
