Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Admissions, the MTS Admissions Counselor-Michigan is responsible for the management of a designated caseload of prospective students. The primary goal of the counselor is moving prospective students through the admission process for the Seminary to achieve the MTS enrollment goals for all assigned academic programs and venues. This position is classified as exempt.
Essential Functions

- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in planning and implementing a strategy for management of assigned leads to meet recruitment goals. Fully responsible for results in assigned territory.
- Maintains timely and consistent contact with leads and applicants as assigned, from initial submission through matriculation. Achieves assigned contacts with students through text, e-mail, phone and in person meetings
- Accountable for keeping the CRM system up to date by reporting activities and results achieved with each student assigned. Counselor is required to follow the established sales process and stages.
- Assists the Assistant Director of Admissions with developing the recruitment strategies for seminary programs and MTS Michigan. Implements and evaluates the recruitment strategies and admissions program for the Seminary programs.
- Coordinates MTS-Michigan faculty participation in student recruitment. Meets with faculty as needed. Participates in staff meetings with the MI campus.
- Coordinates recruitment travel for the MTS MI area including the identification of the appropriate fairs and conferences to participate in.
- Develops professional relationships with key personnel of selected schools for the purpose of identifying and cultivating quality candidates for Moody's graduate programs
- Communicates with contact persons in churches (i.e. young adult leaders, pastors, etc.) to provide for appropriate involvement with church student programming, become a resource for the church, and identify potential applicants through direct contact.
- Travels for college fairs, conferences and other events for the purpose of identifying and cultivating quality candidates for enrollment. Responsible for making trip arrangements.
- Facilitates and manages all aspects of prospective student visits to the MTS Michigan campus. Responsibilities include promoting campus visit events, organizing and scheduling personalized campus tours, coordinating class sit-ins and faculty meetings, conducting tours and information sessions, and ensuring effective follow-up to create a welcoming and engaging experience for prospective students.
- Demonstrates competency to assume long term special initiatives as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Strong organizational skills, planning, self-motivation, accountability, delegation, evaluation, adaptability and flexibility are also essential
- Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with diverse populations
- A working knowledge of computer software is required; admission software preferred; experience with an integrated database is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Affinity and enthusiastic commitment to the mission of Moody Theological Seminary required
- Authorized to work in the US legally, without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- Master's Degree
- Experience in admissions, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred
- A working knowledge of admission software preferred; experience with an integrated database is beneficial

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a full-time, onsite, position. While the employee is regularly expected to be onsite, they may be allowed to work one day a week remotely, dependent upon the needs of the office and the discretion of the office leadership team. Some weekends and evenings are expected.
Moderate Statewide travel is expected for this position.
