Job Summary

The Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health at Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a 12-month, 1.0 FTE Assistant/Associate Faculty position. Responsibilities include teaching evaluation and management of orthopedic conditions, academic advising, research/scholarship, and service.

Strong candidates will have prior teaching experience, clinical experience, and evidence of research success based on peer-reviewed publications and evidence of grant submissions or successful funding in the content area.

The Department of Physical Therapy offers a 3-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and a 1-year Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. The DPT program is highly regarded and has an integrated modular curriculum that leverages active learning approaches to facilitate learning. We have a strong commitment to team-based teaching. Our highly respected faculty is recognized for expertise as educators, scholars, and master clinicians, and for their involvement in leadership positions in the profession both regionally and nationally. The Institute is committed to interprofessional education reflected not only within the department of physical therapy through integrated interprofessional activities, but also in an interdisciplinary PhD program.

Qualifications

Candidates are expected to have:

  • An academic doctorate (e.g., PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc) or candidacy status
  • Clinical or academic teaching experience.
  • A demonstrated record of scholarship with a clear scholarly agenda, and
  • Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in Massachusetts are required.
