Head of Public Relations - Phonak - US
Phonak, a global leader in hearing technology solutions, is seeking an innovative and strategic Head of Public Relations for its US division. This role will lead the development and execution of PR strategies to enhance brand visibility, strengthen corporate reputation, and position Phonak as a thought leader in hearing health. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Phonak Headquarters, to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with global initiatives while tailoring communications to the US market.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy that aligns with business objectives and reinforces Phonak's leadership in hearing technology.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging industry trends and media opportunities.
Media Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for Phonak US, handling media inquiries and ensuring consistent messaging.
Content Development:
- Oversee the creation of press releases, media kits, op-eds, and thought leadership pieces.
- Collaborate with the Social Media (SoMe) team to amplify PR initiatives across digital channels.
Crisis Management:
- Develop and execute crisis communication plans to protect and maintain the brand and company's reputation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership during sensitive situations.
Advocacy & Partnerships:
- Work closely with Phonak's advocate/ambassador programs to elevate authentic brand storytelling.
- Collaborate with external partners and advocacy groups to drive awareness campaigns.
Measurement & Reporting:
- Establish KPIs to measure the success of PR campaigns.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership, showcasing results and areas for improvement.
Collaboration:
- Lead a small team or work with agency partners to execute PR initiatives.
Act as a key liaison between Phonak US and Phonak HQ, ensuring alignment on global PR efforts
More about you:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in public relations, preferably within the healthcare, technology, or consumer goods sectors.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful PR campaigns.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong media relations network and experience in managing press events.
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.
- Skilled in crisis communication and reputation management.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their integration with PR strategies.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role's pay range is between: $128,000 - 135,000 . This role is also commission eligible/bonus eligible.
