Location – This is a hybrid role, which means that you will have the flexibility to work both onsite and at a distance. You will collaborate onsite at our Cashton, WI office for 4-8 days per month, and the rest of the time you can choose to work remotely or onsite.

Summary of Role

This position will ensure CROPP Cooperative is receiving the best value options for all packaging, ingredients and materials while securing the appropriate supply to meet the company’s requirements. 

This position is responsible for overseeing aspects of procurement to ensure the most cost effective, value added, and timely acquisition/replenishment of goods and services within the Cooperative.  This role is also responsible to managing the Packaging Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop applicable procurement/purchasing policies and standard operating procedures
  • Identify, Support and Implement Cost Savings Projects
  • Track Cost Savings Projects and report out to business. Work with Finance to validate Project cost savings
  • Lead sourcing activities, including RFQs, evaluating suppliers on quality, cost, service level and overall value
  • Prepare/coordinate approval of Supply Agreements with legal department. Maintain executed contracts in centralized location
  • Contract for applicable Ingredients and Packaging to ensure supply and meet production demands. Track contract balances to ensure requirements are met on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage supplier partnerships with vendors, staying appraised of economic and business situations related to our supply chain and taking lead on resolving vendor conflicts or issues
  • Qualify new suppliers and items, working to ensure cross functional approval before purchasing
  • Manage ERP system set up of new vendors and/or items, and maintain/coordinate proper documentation of vendors and/or items in Tracegains system
  • Create Standard Costs for bought ingredients and packaging as part of annual budget process
  • Manage department budget

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible management of Purchasing roles, whose main responsibility include purchase order management and includes ensuring the timely delivery of Purchased materials as needed for production
  • Responsible for management of Packaging roles, whose main responsibility includes creation and approval of packaging specifications and all Packaging related work required by the Cooperative.
  • Provides leadership, support and guidance to Cooperative on all things Purchasing related, even if not in areas that are in direct spend
  • Support and regularly attend cross functional meeting to provide input on business strategy
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Master’s Degree preferred), or the equivalent in work related experience
  • Purchasing/procurement experience in both packaging and ingredients
  • Proven analytical/problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills including oral, written and presentations
  • Must have strong interpersonal, organizational and teambuilding skills
  • Able to multitask and easily adapt to growth and change
  • Knowledge of the natural foods industry preferred

Base salary range: $73,424.00 - $97,105.00 per year

This salary range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.

Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the salary range and hiring at the maximum of the salary range is not typical.
