The Solutions Developer analyzes, develops, tests, maintains, and supports internal software applications.  The Solutions Developer will be part of a team of high performers who thrive on innovation and collaboration.  The Essex Technology team is an all-inclusive group of passionate technologists dedicated to supporting each other while supporting and driving Essex to a tech-forward future.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Leverage your full stack experience to design, develop, test, and maintain internal software systems using primarily low-code tools.
  • Work as a team and independently to gather requirements and specifications from business stakeholders and end users.
  • Clearly and concisely document/diagram new and existing software systems.
  • Provide high quality support for our internal users (e.g. onboarding, offboarding, user acceptance testing, user training).
  • Participate in design reviews and technical briefings for specific applications.
  • Collaborate with other developers, data engineers, and BI analysts on data models, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of requirement specifications, laying out of screens, reports, and forms including documenting and revising user procedures and/or manuals.
  • Be involved with resolution of low to medium complexity software development issues that may arise in a production environment.
  • Analyzes, reviews, and alters programs to improve operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Writes clear and concise documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
  • Contributes to the achievement of technology strategy and objectives.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of full stack development experience.
    • Proficient with HTML 5, JavaScript, CSS.
    • Proficient with SQL. Experience with Snowflake and PostGRES/MySQL.
    • Proficient with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js)
    • Proficient with a backend language (e.g. Python, PHP, C#, ASP/ASP.NET, Node.js)
  • Desire to build internal software systems with low-code tools.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical associates.
  • Experience estimating time against defined programming tasks.
  • Experience in requirements analysis, system evaluations, system design, and implementations.
  • Ability to research, comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents accurately.
  • Ability to solve multivariate problems with different strategies.
  • Ability to make decisions with thorough knowledge of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Takes ownership and initiative to drive projects through to completion.
  • Comfortable finding own solutions and also working to specifications.
  • Professional demeanor with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:

  • Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
  • Requires the ability to work Monday through Friday. Entails in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week consistent with the Company’s hybrid policy, located at Essex's corporate office in Irvine.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.
  • Minimal travel may be required for occasional meetings, training, or conferences.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.

The salary range for this position is $91,000.00 - $136,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $91,000.00 - $114,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.

This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
